Tantan : Dating app growing exponentially in India

The Chinese dating application Tantan claims that the number of its customers is doubling every three months. This app was launched in India last year. The app company wants to grab the world’s largest online dating app from Tinder. In China, Tantton is the most popular dating app with nine million users. In India, it is contested by Tinder, Truly Madley, Hainan, Azar and Bumble. According to the market intelligence firm Sensor Tower, Tantan is the world’s third largest dating app after Tinder and Bumble.

Rahul Maheswari, India head of Trenton, says, “In terms of the young population, India is one of the largest markets in the world for online dating. Our consumers have a higher number of young people, whose average age is 24 years. Most of these Tier 1 and Tier 2 live in cities. ‘However, the company did not say how many people have downloaded their applications in India.
20 million dating apps by 2021.

Tantan says that the Indian market will have 20 million potential users of dating apps by 2021. There are more than 5 people in the International Team of the App, which have consistently been focusing on India. It is also planning to open an office in India in the coming months and will keep most of the Indian people employed to increase growth. Data prices have declined dramatically in the last three years. Now a large part of the youth is browsing the Internet. Most of these people are running the Internet through mobile. That is why online dating segments in the Indian market are becoming a center of competition. Since half of India’s population is less than twenty-five years old, there is immense potential for dating applications. Tinder started paying India service since 2013 and since then it has become the favorite dating app of the people.

Company will openly spend to increase the company

Tantan’s Maheshwari said, “We will openly oppose the money to increase the number of customers in the Indian market. The company will mostly do in Tier 2 cities and will suggest to use the youth platform to increase the social circle and choose the right partner. “He said that the app would target singles between 18 to 26 years. Greedy founder of Greyhound Research says, “The lack of genuine profiles in online dating applications in India is also a problem.” Tantan offers service on the basis of freemium model. Users can also use some value-added services by paying money. For example, users who spend money will be able to see who has liked their profiles and also get an opportunity to increase their exposure to a certain time. During that time, their profiles are visible to as many people as possible.
